At this rate, the Mets may look into scheduling some extra road games.
They go for their eighth straight win on their 10-game road trip when they go for the sweep of the Phillies on Thursday at Citizens Bank Park in the series finale.
It would be the longest winning streak for the Mets since a nine-game stretch in April 2000. The eight-game road win streak would match the team record set in May and June 1988.
New York sends out Steve Trachsel to try to extend its winning ways. The right-hander has allowed eight runs in nine innings over his two appearances against the Phillies this season.
Philadelphia counters with Cory Lidle, who makes his third start of the season against the Mets. Lidle hasn't won since a May 21 victory over Boston.
PHI: RHP Cory Lidle (4-5, 4.68 ERA)
NYM: RHP Steve Trachsel (3-4, 4.70 ERA)
He's made two appearances against the Phils this year -- a five-inning game on May 9 and a 16-inning game on May 23.
He's 2-1 with a 2.78 ERA as a Phillie in three starts against the Mets.
Player to watch
David Wright is 4-for-11 (.364) in his career against Lidle and has homered in the first two games of this series.
