Mets to Assist Governor Cuomo in Hurricane Relief Drive for Puerto Rico

The New York Mets are partnering with New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on the Empire State Relief & Recovery Effort for Puerto Rico. Citi Field will serve as a strategic location for Mets fans and all New Yorkers to drop off much needed supplies that will be sent to help the people of Puerto Rico recover and rebuild following the widespread devastation from Hurricane Maria.

The Mets are encouraging fans attending the September 25, 26 and 27 games this week at Citi Field to bring donations. There will be collection points set up outside the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, Left Field Gate and Bullpen Gate. Donations will be accepted between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

"On behalf of everyone at the Mets, we would like to thank Governor Cuomo for coordinating this massive relief effort for the island of Puerto Rico," said Mets COO Jeff Wilpon. "The Mets and our fans stand alongside all our friends and family in Puerto Rico during this difficult time."

On Thursday and Friday, September 28-29, the Mets will accept donations between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. outside the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. Fans driving to the ballpark can enter via the Official Lot G on 126th street and proceed straight to the fire lane in front of the Rotunda. Mets staff will be on hand to unload items from vehicles.

Requested items to help the people of Puerto Rico include:

• Batteries
• Flashlights and portable lanterns
• Diapers and baby wipes
