PHILADELPHIA -- Moises Alou continues to progress during his rehab assignment with Class A St. Lucie, going 3-for-3 on Sunday in five innings and playing in left field. Alou has played 10 innings the last two days, going 2-for-5 with a hit-by-pitch in an extended Spring Training game on Saturday in Vero Beach, Fla. On Friday, Alou went 1-for-4 as a designated hitter with an RBI. Vice president of player development Tony Bernazard said that Alou is scheduled to play on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, though he would not comment on whether Alou would be able to rejoin the Mets next weekend when Atlanta visits Shea Stadium. "Moises' progress is good, very good," Bernazard said. "He went from first to third Sunday and he scored from second. We're hopeful Moises will be able to return to the team as soon as possible. He's coming along well. Right now, from what I know, he hasn't had any discomfort at all. He hasn't had any discomfort when he throws, either, as far as I know. We'd certainly like to see him back soon."
Alou underwent hernia surgery on March 6. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on March 23, retroactive March 21.
