Playing for the first time since Saturday, Castro was the starting catcher and struck out in his only two at-bats. Robinson Cancel replaced him.
After the game, Castro said he hadn't experienced another injury, but that the affected area had become stiff and sore as the game progressed. He was unsure of his prognosis.
He has played more often since Jerry Manuel replaced Willie Randolph as manager and since the team began carrying a third catcher, Cancel, which has made the backup on a given day more likely to pinch-hit. Castro is batting .267 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in 105 at-bats.
