Selected by the Mets in the 14th round of the 2011 June Draft out of Arizona State University…was selected three previous times, but did not sign: Padres, 23rd round, 2010; Indians, 29th round, 2009; and Blue Jays, 28th round, 2007…hit .330 (35-for-106) as a senior with the Sun Devils…limited to 34 AB as a junior in 2010 due to a forearm injury…was a two-time first team AllConference selection at Central Arizona College before transferring…moved to Phoenix with his family when he was 15 years old…his parents drove down from Phoenix to watch him play in the WBC qualifiers in Mexicali in 2016.

2017

Played for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic during spring training, starting games against Puerto Rico and Venezuela…appeared in 70 games for Triple-A Las Vegas, where he recorded a career-high 44 RBI…was a non-roster invite to Mets spring training for a second consecutive year…hit .266 (53-for-199) with 3 HR and 19 RBI in 57 games for the Aguilas de Mexicali in the Mexican Pacific League…was his fifth consecutive year playing for Mexicali during the offseason.
