The Twins recalled Adam Wilk to start Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader with the Tribe at Target Field.

Wilk to start for Twins on Saturday

Twins manager Paul Molitor wasn't sure who would start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader before Thursday's game, but after the 6-2 win over the Mariners, it was decided that right-hander Adam Wilk will be called up from Triple-A Rochester to start against the Indians.

Adam Robert Wilk...Is a 2007 graduate of Cypress (CA) High School, where he went 23-3 with a 1.50 ERA and 235 strikeouts on the mound and produced a .410 average at the plate...Went 13-1 with a 1.17 ERA and 118 strikeouts as a senior...Was also a two-time allleague and all-county pick and was named the 2005 Division-II Player-of-the-Year...Went 10-4 with a 3.04 ERA in 52 appearances (16 starts) in three years while playing for Long Beach State (CA) University from 2007-2009...Earned second-team All-Big West Conference honors as a junior in 2009 after recording a 7-4 record and 2.78 ERA in 15 appearances (13 starts).
