Unable to recover from the shoulder weakness that has sidelined him since Spring Training, Mets infielder David Wright has elected surgery to repair his right rotator cuff, the team announced on Monday.
The Mets announced a series of injury updates Thursday, headlined by the return of closer Jeurys Familia, who will be activated before Friday's game in Washington.
