Dick Scott

• Richard (Dick) Scott begins his second season as the team's bench coach.

• Served as the Director of Player Development for the Mets from 2013-2015...Was the club's Minor League Field Coordinator from 2011-2012.

• Was the Houston Astros Minor League Field Coordinator before joining the Mets.

• Was the Toronto Blue Jays Director of Player Development from 2001-2009.

• A former infielder, he began his coaching career as a minor league manager in the Oakland Athletics organization in 1991.

• Named the 1994 Minor League Manager of the Year by USA Today Baseball Weekly.

• Also was selected Arizona League Manager of the Year with Scottsdale in 1991, the Northwest League Manager of the Year with Southern Oregon in 1992 and the California League Manager of the Year in 1994 with Modesto. 

• Was originally drafted in the 17th round of the 1981 Amateur Draft...Played 10 total seasons between the Yankees and A's organizations, appearing in three regular season games with the 1989 World Champion Oakland Athletics.

• In 1997, Scott joined the Arizona Diamondbacks as a manager with South Bend (A) of the Midwest League.

• Served Arizona as the Advance Scout for the major league team in 1998...Left Arizona on November 28, 2001 to join Toronto.

• The Ellsworth, ME native graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1981 where he played baseball, basketball and soccer.

• Dick, 54, and his wife, Kristin, have two sons, Ryan and Zach
